Township Government
Lawrence Township Government is comprised of the Lawrence Township Trustee, the Township Advisory Board, a Small Claims Court and a Constable who services the Small Claims Court.
The Township Advisory Board is made up of seven members, each member is elected to a four year term in presidential election years and serve a specific district. The Township Advisory Board annually elects a President and Secretary. All meetings of the Township Advisory Board are public meetings. Each year, the Lawrence Township Trustee introduces a budget which must be approved by the Lawrence Township Advisory Board. This budget covers Emergency Assistance, Cemetery Maintenance and the operations of the Lawrence Township Small Claims Court. The Lawrence Township Small Claims Court Judge and Constable are elected to four year terms and are in elected non-presidential years held in even years. Information about the Court and the Constable are located under the tabs located to the right.
